At Reichel Foods, food safety has always been a top priority and an integral part of our business. We have among the highest quality standards and testing procedures in the industry, with each product going through a minimum of 65 quality checkpoints before it leaves our facility.
We insist on using only top quality raw materials that meet all of our quality requirements as specified in our Vendor Approval Program. We’ve implemented strict Standard Operating Procedures at our facility that exceed FDA and USDA regulatory requirements, and we were among the first in the produce industry to establish a HACCP Program (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) – a system of process controls designed to prevent food safety problems. We focus on employee training to insure strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and proper safe food handling.
We believe continuous improvement is absolutely necessary for success. Therefore, we are routinely audited for food safety and plant sanitation by nationally recognized 3rd party audit companies and customers. Although our audit scores place us in the “Excellent” category, we strive to become even better!
In addition, we are implementing SQF (Safe Quality Food), a leading, global food safety and quality certification and management system. SQF provides independent certification that our food safety and quality management system complies with international and domestic food safety regulations, and assures our customers that our products have been produced, processed, prepared and handled according to the highest possible standards at all levels of the supply chain. |
